Finale 2014.5, OSX 10.9.5

Is there a way to play back music WITHOUT chord names, once the chord names are entered? I just want to hear the music I've written, but NOT muddied with the chord names (which I use for shorthand). Can anyone help? Thanks!

Select the Chord Tool and then go up into the menu Chord and make sure that "Enable Chord Playback" is unchecked. That should do the trick!

Are you saying you want the chord symbols hidden?

 

Staff Tool > Click on Staff > Return

Uncheck Chords under "Items to Display".

I'd rather the chords be visible, but not played back. CJ Garcia, that did the trick! Thanks, both of you for responding! So appreciate it!!

You can also mute the chords (or change the instrument playing them) in the Score Manager by exploding the Name designation to show all the different layers as well as chords.
