 Why, after down loading Finale 25 upgrade from 24.5, does it not show the new Finale 25 symbol? In my startup box it shows the previous editions but not Finale 25. How do I know I have Finale 25. I have downloaded it two times to make sure and have registered it.

Hi Bill.

 

This may be a silly question, but have you actually installed Finale 25 after downloading?

You may need to locate where the download has been saved to, then run the installation program.

The new Finale v25 application icon, as found in your application folder, simply reads "Finale". Not Finale 25, Finale v25, or any other. Just "Finale".

 

If you registered it, it shows the application was installed and running because you must register from within Finale itself, as far as I know.

I had the same program on my Mac installation. Only deleting Finale 2014.5 allowed the new Finale icon to appear. On WIndows this was not a problem.

I wonder if however the Mac OS identifies (associates) program files and their shortcuts on the application page interferes with the process of showing shortcuts for both versions.

I did not have that issue. Finale 25 lives side by side with 2014.5 and 2014 and 2011 in my Applications folder.
