It might not be affecting many people. I am not having issues with it and no one on the other user groups where I post has mentioned it. AudioMidi Setup is one of those apps that Apple tinkers with, however.

Since it's an Apple issue, go to the support pages and request a call. When you list a new OS install as your reason, it's free. You have to click through a few pages but start here and you'll find it.

Thanks Mike - I'm on the phone with Apple and it took some time to assure them it wasn't a Finale problem - but an Apple Audio MIDI Setup utility problem. I don't think these techs ever dealt with this utility before. I've used my keyboard with three other computers and every OS since 2009 - it's only when I installed Sierra that Audio MIDI Setup stopped recognizing my keyboard.

What keyboard are you using? 

Sierra has changed support for some Bluetooth hardware. It could be something as simple as getting a newer keyboard or a BT dongle that works.

Knowledge = problem better understood.

I use a Roland RD-700GX

The problem seems to be with the Roland driver - Somehow, I was lead to believe that a driver wasn't needed with Audio MIDI Setup.

Only those that claim to be Class Compliant over USB. Many keyboards are but they are limited to the functionality supported by the spec. Others are but have additional functionality that requires drivers while others require drivers in all circumstances.

Same with audio interfaces. Class Compliant devices are limited to two channels—any more requires a driver.

I also installed Sierra last week and downloaded Finale 25 with similar consequences. My computer is not under warranty so I will need to pay to contact Apple. Did you have any success other than this option?
