Windows 7 and PrintMusic 2011

I can't open "Existing Files" (it takes me to My Documents). I tried "Open Recent Files" and got the message: "Cannot open C:(fie name) . . . .  The system cannot find the specified path." Do I need to reinstall the program? If so, will I lose my files? How do I save them?

How about finding the (.mus) file and either double-clicking it or dragging it onto the PrintMusic icon?

The message is telling you that your files can't be found, not that they don't exist.

Resetting paths is something that every Windows user should learn to do. If you've been on Win enough years, you already know how.

Windows 7 should be able to repair the path if you follow Adrian's suggestions but that doesn't always work. MacOS is much better at it.

If you save a file and then move it into a(nother) folder, the Recent Files list will not make the adjustment.

Halfway done with a time consuming ArrangeMe.  Tried to open it from my desktop and the system simply continues running but won't open .  sort of freezes at 25%?

Make a copy of the file. Export it as Music XML, and import it back in. That often clears out file corruption.

How do I go about exporting then importing.  How does a saved file become corrupted?

If you can get the file to open, then File > Export > Music XML, then File > Import > Music XML. But you're right, if you can't open it, you can't export it. My bad. Sorry.

How does it happen? Gnurrs. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gnurrs_Come_from_the_Voodvork_Out)

Send the file to me, maybe I can get it to open. My email is encoded in my signature.
