Why hasn't this bug been fixed yet? MakeMusic please correct this issue right away. When I play back the recording I still hear these skipping noises and I cannot have these. I use an iMac with the latest OS software and VSL Ensemble Pro 5/Instruments Pro 2. Please get this fixed right away.

What is your audio buffer setting? Sometimes increasing it helps.

(IIRC VSL takes a lot of memory and processing power.)

12G RAM and VSL? Oh dear...Are you also still using mechanical hard drives?

There’s a reason that many run VSL on slave computers ...

It is possible to run VSL on your Mac or PC if you have plenty of RAM and solid state drives...

Your rig is way underpowered. Blaming Finale is misplaced. I’m only the messenger.

Hi,

first of all sorry for my English

With my Mc Pro early 1008 with 12 Gb Ram and four Hd (not solid) I can use without problems Logic Pro with a full orchestration including two full instances of full Vienna Ensemble for Strings and Woodwinds and a lot of Kontact Player with Cine Brass for Brass Ensemble!!!!

And some Kontact Player with Percussion

More I use four Altiverb instances for each ensemble.

Logic runs without issues for complex and articulate orchestration.

I Work in Italy as a composer for National Film Museum

From Finale 2014 I had audio performances problem.

Untill Finale 2010 2011 with Snow Leopard all was good, after was a nightmare.

I've issues only to perform a simple string quartet or chamber music for strings orchestra.

Clicks and pops during playback and export audio is a nightmare.

With the same setup (Vienna Ensemble) and Sibelius, the playback engine works perfectly as in Logic.

I don't want to migrate to Sibelius, I use Finale from 2005.

Best

Stefano

Update your Mac. SSDs and more RAM will let you use more instances of VSL. Read the links I posted earlier. You'll notice that Logic runs and loads much more quickly.

It is highly doubtful that using VSL in Sibelius would make much of a difference.

Thanks for the support!

But why with Logic and more complex setup I've no issue?

The hardware setup is the same....

Why? Without access to source code, no one is going to answer that.

I will guess that it’s two things: 1) I assume that Logic assigns multiple instances of certain VIs to different cores a la Digital Performer and many others. 2) Finale is not a DAW.

VSL is well known to be a resource hog, CPU, RAM and drive. The links I posted earlier refer to this. Many users run it on a slave computer for that reason. The good news is that increasing your RAM and using SSDs lets you run greater instances and more smoothly.

Since Logic handles VSL adequately for you, try using Rewire to synchronize the two. I’m out of ideas.
