There are two sections of empty measures in this score which refuse to submit to multimeasure rests. Each shunts me to "Edit" as if a MMR exists. These measures are absolutely empty. I've already tried a "Save As"
This is on the MacBook Air.
Assuming that the measures are really empty, there might be other causes :
• Measure tool -> Measure Attributes window : there is a box in every measure that allows breaking MM rests.
• The presence of a staff style using Alternate Notation
• An expression (such a Reheasal Marks, Tempo Marks...) Check the Position, there is a box that allows breaking MM rests.
• Obviously : repeat bars, double barlines, Time and Key signature changes.
Thanks, Michael, for laying all that out. This was a real head-banger all afternoon, and when I came back to it this evening, the MMs had formed themselves (albeit, with "Symbols for less than…" activated). My best guess is that it was a CPU rendering problem. (The M1 Air is the first mac machine I haven't been happy with.) But I took the opportunity to read through the MM Attributes box. (BTW, this is a reduction of Oliver Nelson's chart of Duke's "Empty Ballroom Blues", from big band to sextet.)
