Hi all - apologies if this has been asked previously  - I am trying to transcribe an Italian song in 4/4 time but with lots of triplet quavers (almost like at 12/8) in places  - as there are many in the score.

In places I need to write the three quaver triplets as a crotchet and quaver triplet grouping. Finale doesn't seem to allow entering Option 3 and then typing in a crotchet and quaver  - it doesn't maintain the grouping as a triplet (albeit a crotchet and quaver).

Sorry I hope this makes sense. Any help would be really useful.

In Simple Entry, set your default triplet as 3 eighths in the space of 2 eighths. Then you can enter any of the combinations: 3 eighths, eighth/quarter, or quarter/eighth. I think Speedy is more complicated.
