I am using Finale 2012 for Windows. I am writing a piece for four a Capella voices. Measures 32-38 have a black spot, not rectangular, making it impossible to see what I wrote for several measures. Ctrl-E (toggle scroll / page view) doesn't make it go away, nor does changing the zoom. I have written several other pieces. This is happening in just one.
Click on the black spot with the selection tool. Does it highlight? If so, press delete. Does it disappear? You can also press return and you'll be taken to the tool possibly associated with the spot.
May be a long shot, but worth trying. You can also shut down and restart the computer to see if that helps.
