I'm running Finale v27.4 on a 2020 iMac running Sonoma and it keeps crashing. I've trashed the preference files but it still crashes. Any help will be massively appreciated.

Is this in all documents? What are you doing at the time of the crash? More details would help.

Hey Mike. Thanks for the reply.

I worked on two documents today and had no issues with the first. In the second document, the crash occurred when I was trying to drag a measure to copy it to another measure. Oddly, I was doing the same action with the first document but without any issues.

What happens if you use OPT-click to paste the measure?

When I do a right click copy/paste there is no issue but as soon as I attempt to drag copy the program crashes.

This has been a recent issue and started to occur with my previous version of Finale which is what prompted me to upgrade to the latest version. Is there a compatibility issue with Mac Sonoma?

Also, thanks for getting on to my question so quickly.

If this is only happening in the one document, but not in others, I would suspect file corruption. You might try exporting that one doc as XML, and then importing it back in. This often clears a corrupted file. Or, try copying the bad doc, and pasting it into a new one.

Certain builds of Sonoma have problems that affect plug-ins in ways that can cause apps to crash—even if you are not using them in Finale.

If you have not updated to macOS 14.5, you should do so.
