I will need time to work out if I really need Dorico Pro or whether I can get by with one of the cheaper versions. It's not something that can be immediately checked out without a considerable amount of work. I would hate to spend time figuring out how to use Dorico and whether I need all the features, only to find the discount disappears.

So we really need to know how long the offer stands.

yes, that's what I would use to try it out - but will the offer still be there after 60 days?

Unofficially, I've heard > 60 days for sure. I'd think at least through Thanksgiving but no way to know for sure.

Did I answer you on the Dorico forum or was that someone else? No matter...

This will be available as long as Yamaha thinks it's good for business and, when it's gone, it's gone. That's all any of us know. It would surprise me if it wasn't good till next year but I don't work for Peaksware or Yamaha so I'm making a blind guess. What my little birdies are telling me is just as valuable as any other internet rumor—worthless, IMO and I certainly wouldn't make a purchasing decision based on that.

Priced @ $149.99 including a no charge license for Finale 27 so that you get MusicXmL 4.0, it's half the price of Dorico's $299.99 crossgrade from Finale/Sibelius etc. MM is acting as the agent for this so I would think they get a cut but that's none of our business. You purchase this through your MM account.

Update: I have received the following reply from MakeMusic, so at least we have the official position, if not firm info -

-------------

Hi Sue,

Thank you for contacting MakeMusic Customer Support.
We don't have a firm expiration date for when the Dorico crossgrade offer will expire, but I can assure you that there is plenty of time to evaluate Dorico before making an informed purchasing decision.
With that in mind, I would encourage you to download the Dorico 60-day free trial at the link below:

60-day trial version

I hope that information helps. Have a nice day.
