I have been using Finale on Mac OS Sequoia 15.2 with no problems. Now Apple has released Sequoia 15.3. Does anyone know if Finale will continue to work with 15.3? BTW - I already purchased an older MacBook Pro (with Mac OS Sonoma), loaded Finale 27 on it, and will keep it as a back-up when/if needed. That computer will not be connected to the Internet. I also set up a partition on my current MacBook Pro, loaded Sonoma and Finale 27 on it so that I can continue using Finale while I slog through Dorico.

I doubt there was much that changed between .2 to .3 that would affect Finale. It's mostly all the AI stuff and bug fixes.

I went ahead and installed 15.3 and so far so good with Finale 27 on a 2019 Mac Pro (Intel). If your Mac is Apple Silicon you may want to wait for confirmation that it works with that platform.

Thank you, Mark for posting about this. I too have a MacBook Pro with the Intel chip and was worried about this update. I have already heard of other users having issues.

To clarify... By other users, I am not exactly sure if they have the same set up we do. I believe they may have Apple silicon or maybe even some running windows.

No problems were expected; none found.

macOS 15.3 and and Sonoma 14.7.3 fixed a few minor but very annoying bugs introduced with 15.2 (and Sonoma 14.7.2). It affected Text.app and a few others. As I complained to Apple Engineering, "Text? Really? It's been flawless since 1986 on my Mac Plus!"

All better now.

So glad to find this forum. I've used Finale since 1.0 and now have 26.1 on a MacBook Pro M1 (Sequoia 15.3) but it has serious glitches. Hyperscribe can be set up to work, but when you click the mouse to stop, the whole software disappears. It must be restarted from scratch. I see some of you are using Finale 27.4.1.  Where can I get it? Thanks.

Finale will give you an upgrade license to Finale 27 including Tech Support through August 2025 as part of the $149 Dorico crossgrade offer.

MakeMusic Support has excluded Sequoia but they are supporting Sonoma. That said, many of us are running 27.4.1 without problems. It should just work as 26 was incompatible with Ventura and later.

Worst case, you can create a Sonoma Volume on your Mac as long as it isn't an M4 — and you've already told us it's an M1. If necessary, I can help you with that but it's unlikely to be an issue.

actually is not Sequoia the problem (not yet); the main problem is the M4 chip...

where I can actually run Finale with no problem in Sequoia on an M1 iMac, it refuses to start on my MacBookAir M4
