WIN 10 - FINALE 2016

Dear Sir, MARK ADLER

Concerns: Special plug-in (for disabled people) for FINALE 25.

We run a center of musical education of people intellectually disabled. We would like to use FINALE in a special way. Some of our pupils are able to push only a large button (works like left button of a computer mouse). People here understand their actions and this would allow them to coparticipate in the performance of music. We focus on classical music, written with notes.

We need a plug-in, which would allow to play parts typed in Finale 25 step by step, as follows:

  • CLICK - plays designated short part (melody) and STOP- waits for another click.
  • CLICK – plays next part and STOP.

This way, people with disabilities will be able to perform appropriate parts with just one click of a large button.

Our activities are presented on websites: www.orkiestra-vita-activa.pl and www.ecekon.pl

We kindly ask for help,                                                                                    Gdańsk - POLAND, 09.01.2018.

Sincerely, Ryszard Popowski Ph.D.

Ryszard Popowski,

This looks like a feature request.

If I were you, I would post this in the Feature Requests forum.

Agreed.

Any such feature request needs to be detailed so that others can understand exactly what you are looking for, step by step. Think of it like writing a script...pressing the button makes a happen which triggers b; when b finishes, it triggers c etc. You will need to define every step to which I just assigned a letter.

This makes me wonder if scripting in Finale or Windows can't already do what you want. I used to write specialized scripts in UNIX and, on the surface, your request doesn't seem to be far off. If you can write out the task precisely, a local programmer might be able to give you exactly what you want. If possible, you want someone who can observe and interact with your users.

I am handicapped and use some scripting in my work but nothing like that required here. Also, I'm on a Mac.

Best of luck to you on this!
