Hi I'm a jazz composer and arranger and I've been using finale for ever! This bug has been on my list for awhile now:
When you copy paste chords from a standard staff (piano,trumpet,sax etc) and paste them in the drum kit staff finale automatically transposes all the chords a fifth higher...I used to be able to remedy the situation by selecting the chords and hitting transpose but now that function isn't there anymore, its only allowing me to transpose percussion notes. Is there anyway around this? Drummers are musicians too you know ;P

By your word “chords”, do you mean Chord Symbols? Like Dm7?

Or do you mean (note) chords? Like written out in notes?

 

For transposing Chord Symbols, use

Utilities menu > Change > Chords…

 

For transposing notes, use

Utilities menu > Transpose…

I have heard that. :)

 

Seriously, your signature shows Finale 25.4. I would update to 25.5 and, if that and Peter's suggestion don't do it, march this into MM Tech Support by using the Submit a request link at the top of the page.

Sorry Yes I meant ''chords'' as in Dm7 etc and I didn't know about that menu-change-chords I will try it out thanks!
