Hi—

Can anyone recommend the most graceful (i.e., least labor-intensive!) way to create rolled-chord playback when the chord to be rolled is divided between different layers, voices, and/or staves?  (The most obvious example is a chord that rolls from left hand up to right hand.)  The articulation marking seems to affect only those notes that are included in the layer/voice/staff to which it is attached.

I'm assuming I could make this work with the MIDI tool, but I'm hoping for a less meticulous solution, as I encounter this challenge quite often.

Thanks in advance!

David

David,

Both of these work for me (to my ear, at least!). Are you sure you're using the Arpeggio from the Articulation palette, and not the glissando from the Smart Shapes?

Yup, hotkey R in the Articulations tool. None of these work for me:

(In those last two bars, as a test, I linked the roll articulation to the LH [as usual] in the penultimate measure and the RH in the last measure.  In both cases, only the hand to which the articulation is attached actually arpeggiates.)
