Hello

I am working with finale V25 for Windows with latest updates 25.5.0.290. Files create with this I would like to use and edit them on a IPad 2 with IOS version 11.2.6. The reason is that sitting on the pinao I would like to do corrections/amendments with a stylus pen on teh IPad.  I tried to export files to xml format 3.1 but with NotationPad full they cannot be opened on the IPad. It crashes.

Is there any valid way to achieve this and not to print out the music form the PC, correct the paper version, go back to PC and correct the file and so on.

Your input is highlty appreciated. Suitable App for IPad.

Thank you

Karl-Hans Fuchs

Very simply, no. MM has consistently said that there is no iOs version planned.

A friend of mine has Finale loaded on a Surface Pro, but even that is somewhat problematical. To stay with the Mac, you would need a laptop. I haven't heard of problems with Notion. Maybe you should post on their forum, and see if anyone there can help.

I’m going to guess that you have an iPad Air 2. The iPad 2 doesn’t run iOS 11, yes?

Check out Notion for iOS, $14.99 from the App Store. Use MusicXML import/export to exchange data with Finale. I’ve had it since my 1st gen iPad and it works as advertised. There’s a User forum for Presonus that’s helpful. The biggest complaint I’ve heard is that there is no Android version.

Yes, Presonus wants you to buy Notion 6 for Mac/PC ($79 crossgrade from Finale) but check out the demo first. I have it but don’t like the workflow.

“ I tried to export files to xml format 3.1”

There’s your problem. Notion doesn’t support 3.1. You gave to export as .xml for it to work. It’s in your export menu. See the Help files.
