I have Finale 2014.5 on a MacBook Air. My problem is that the score no longer appears sharp on the screen. (And yes, I know my eyes are not as young as they used to be, but I don't think that's what's going on here.) Originally, I thought there was a problem with the printer resolution, because I noticed that a recently- printed score did not appear as crisp on paper as scores that I printed in the past. But on further examination, I notice that the score looks noticeably indistinct on my computer screen. The printer has simply conveyed, accurately, the fuzzy score. Other images, outside of Finale, look perfectly clear and crisp, but Finale looks fuzzy. Is there some setting that effects resolution of the image of the score? I know about resizing a score, and the % function, but this is happening in spite of the size of the score.

If I understand you correctly, you also have tried the Graphics Tool, and exported the pages as a PDF file, right?

A such PDF file contains vector graphics (= everything described in mathematical formulas).

This means that the PDF file will always print at the best possible quality.

If the PDF file prints fuzzy, then the culprit must be in the printer.

If the PDF file looks fuzzy on the computer screen, then the culprit must be in the hardware (perhaps the computer screen?), or in the software used to open and view the PDF file (Adobe Reader? or Preview?)

I'll bite. What OS? How are you printing? What's your printer?
