I just upgraded to 25 from 2014.5 and I am using Windows 10.  Yes I know it has been awhile, but this is why I sometimes hesitate to upgrade.   I upgraded to 25 and then installed all the updates to that version but now I cannot open any of my lead sheets in 25.  I also cannot open them now in 2014.5.  In both instances when I click on the lead sheet it just runs and runs and then it says finale not responding.  It does not give me an error.

Also, if I create a new lead sheet from default document and save it, it will open when I go back to it.  Need some advice on how to open my lead sheets.

THANx

This is not typical. Did you just upgrade your operating system as well? It sounds as if your data files (lead sheets) may have been compromised somehow.

Have you tried starting Finale first and then opening a lead sheet via the open (not the Recent ) command? I take it the lead sheets were created in Finale  2014.5?

No I did not upgrade my operating system, I have been on Windows 10 for awhile.  Yes, I have tried to open them via the open command.   Yes, the lead sheets were created in Finale 2014.5.  I agree with you that it seems these files were corrupted some how during the upgrade, but I'm not sure what to do to fix it.  While Finale just runs and runs while trying to open the file, at the top left hand corner of the screen the following message is displayed:    Finale - [All My Hope.musx] (Not Responding)

Any help would be appreciated.

THANx

Have you sent the file in to tech support? Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of this page.

I did send the file to tech support and they told me it looked fine and gave me the following to try:

  1. Save all of your work and get ready to exit the program
  2. Choose either
    • For Windows: Edit > Preferences
    • For Mac: Finale > Preferences
  3. Click the 'Reset All Preferences' button at the bottom of the preferences window
  4. When prompted with a message asking if you are sure you would like to continue, choose 'Yes'
  5. Once the program has closed, restart your computer
  6. Relaunch Finale

This corrected the problem and now I can open all my 2014.5.   Thank you to all that responded.
