Hi all,

Besides the very annoying feature of Finale v25 adding words to PDF file names. (ie: score, flute, trombone) etc.. , has anyone else noticed that when you have a file opened, then you open another file on top, when you then go to save that top file as a pdf, Finale tries to label the PDF as the originally opening file in the background .pdf ???

Example: I am working on Cue #1, then somebody asks me to make a pdf of Cue #2, which I worked on earlier. So I open Cue #2, and it is clearly on top and in Focus. Then I go to make a PDF and it want to put the file name of Cue #1 as the name of my PDF.

It only happens in Finale for me.. No other High Sierra programs have this issue... Argggg...

Perhaps. I’m not certain that’s true. High Sierra messes with the order of things and many apps have had to write fixes for this.

If I can duplicate it in OS 10.11, it’s a Finale issue; if not, it’s a 10.13 issue that MakeMusic may or may not address after you bring it to their attention. I’m writing this on my iPad and won’t be able to look at it till I get to my office.

I'm not sure that the following is relevant, but just in case (nothing to do with High Sierra, I use El Capitan).

If the window of file A  is minimized (into the dock), the pdf created in file B inherits the name of file A.

This bug of Finale 25 Mac has been acknowledged by MakeMusic. The solution : leave both files open, not minimized.

Ahh, yes.. it is minimized when that happens..

Still it is a bug, and quite annoying.. It would be great for them to fix that.. The pdf file name should always match the "in scope" document.

I agree, and I have reported the problem, and received the solution I mentioned. I would suggest that you submit a ticket, too.

High Sierra only or is it present in earlier OS?

Also present in El Capitan (10.11.6), so this is a Finale 25 problem (Mac).

Thanks. I was planning to switch drives and test when I saw your post.
