Hello all,

I run Finale 25.5 on Mac and was wondering if it was possible to use a mixing control surface, such as a Presonus Faderport to control the Finale mixer?
When working on a score of 30-40 staves, it's rather time-consuming to solo out just brass, mute all percussion, or adjust section volumes because I have to do it individually with a mouse. Whereas, if I could use a mixing control surface like I do in Logic Pro, I could do all of that with the press of a button or the quick slide of a fader. Does this functionality exist? I know a lot of people export into Logic Pro via xml to get more effective playback, but I am more interested in efficiency during the composition process.

Thanks!

Brandon

I see nothing that indicates external control of the Mixer is possible.

You do want to ask MM directly through the Submit a request link at the top of the page. Please let us know the response.

This may be another one of those DAW functions that Finale doesn’t support — I don’t know any notation app that does.

If you look at the goal, there are other ways to do what you want including Rewire to sync with Logic Pro X.

fwiw the new SSL UC-1 controller works with Finale 25 at a channel level and on the master (not at individual plugin level)

I would like to see better controls on the mixer myself, but I'm not sure that I would pay $850 for a controller!

Thanks for the info, though.
