Hi,

Would anyone know how to break the staff line in between the first and second staves that begins for every new line?

 

I'd like to make it like this where I can still add the rhythm hits over the main stave:

You can get rid of the left barline of systems in Document Options -> Barlines ->  Left Barlines : uncheck "Display on Multiple Staves". This applies to the whole score.

Sandra Lim,

 

In your screen shot it looks like your score is a 2-staff score where the upper staff only displays a few items, like rhythm hits (a lead sheet?).

What Michel Herr suggests, will work for a such 2-staff score.

 

If - On The Other Hand - you have a multi-staff score where you do need a Left Barline on all the staves, except on the Top Staff, then the solution is that you for (only) the Top Staff move the Top Staff’s barlines vertically down into the staff below.

This is done in the dialog box Staff Setup.

How to get there:

ScoreManager > Instrument List > Staff > Other…
