Not only does my upgraded Finale crash when I add notes, I can't Undo, anymore.  I have tried restarting and checked that in Preferences that UNDO is allowed, but to no avail.  Any experience?

… my upgraded Finale …

Do you mean Finale v25? - or Finale 2014? - or?

I’m sorry, I had installed the latest suggested upgrade to v. 25. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Since you have already tried a reboot, the next step is that you check, whether the Preferences file is corrupted:

- quit Finale,

- move the Preferences file to the Desktop,

- launch Finale again.

When it is launched again, Finale can not find a Preferences file, and hence it will create a new, fresh Preferences file.

If the problem is solved, then you know that the old Preferences file (now on the Desktop) was the culprit, and you can trash it.

I hate to appear the troglodyte but where do I find this preference file.  Command-F yields no Finale Pref and it appears that I have no Finale Folder, merely the application.

Since you are using Mac OS X 10.13.6, I suspect that your user account’s Library folder is hidden.

Open a new Finder window (⌘N), hold down the Option key, and go to

Go menu > Library

This step will open the hidden Library folder.

From there the path is:

Library/Preferences/com.makemusic.finale.fprf

There is also another file, named com.makemusic.Finale.plist, but you probably do not need to remove that file.
