Finale 25 on Surface pro 3 w/ system 10

When using the repeat symbol: DC al Coda, DS al Coda, Coda and the related symbols, the symbols appear on the top staff and no others. The square or handle is there, but not the symbol, even when I check the all staves box.  This wouldn't be that much of a problem except they don't show up on the extracted parts, although the handle does.  I also had this issue with a previous version and ended up deleting all those symbol and putting them in individually on the extracted parts and then the score.

I hope there is some obvious thing that I am missing that you can tell me about so that I can use this more efficiently.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Is the item “Endings and Text Repeats” selected for display in the Staff Attributes for each and every staff in the document?

Wow. I had the same problem and this comment fixes it. Thanks.

I am a new user who hasn't changed any settings. Why would this display attribute be off by default for all the staves except the first???? So, many new users must encounter this problem.

Did you create the new document from one of the ready made Finale templates? (File menu > New > Document From Template…)

- or did you create the document yourself?

I would like to know how to get the repeat element to show on the top line of the score AND in the parts, without having to create a second score with the repeat elements on EVERY part. The only way I know to have these not show in the score is to uncheck the display in the Staff Attributes, but then of course they don't show up in the parts. I know there is a way to do this, but I cannot figure out how.

In the dialog box Repeat Assignment, set the repeat to Show On: Top Staff.

The setting “Top Staff” will override the Staff Attributes.
