So this is pretty dumb, but also completely true. I grew weary of being unable to remove multiple empty bars simply by selecting them in the score and hitting delete, so I went to insert measure stack and typed in "-1."

......

"Finale has encountered an error and will shut down." Cue the software hanging, shutting down and me forgetting to have saved in way too long.

Moral of the story, don't get bored and try to insert a negative amount of measures to see if they go away. The whole program will go away.

Oops! Thank you for pointing that out.

Here's the rest of the info that I understand as missing according to the link:

My set up: Finale 25.5 Windows 7. Honestly this should have occurred to me from the get go.

It's inferable that this was not an error that anyone will likely repeat. I certainly won't. I was indeed trying to do a function not designed into the software...Insert -1 measures and hope it deletes one? Yikes!

Also, remember to save often!

So what you’re saying is, “Kids, don’t try this at home.”

I get it now. Thanks for the clarification.

My computer is shut down for a week while my office is being remodeled so I’m not able to test this. I consider myself warned!
