Hi!

I work for a music school and their teachers made a lot of sheet music and leadsheet for their students and concerts. They ask me to put it in the cloud. One of their most important backup (sheets from 2000 to 2009) was on a backup CD. more than 80% of the scores (over a hundred) states: "invalid file type" when I tried to open them. I tried on both finale 2011 and finale 2006, with the same results.

Here's one example:

Many topics on this forum is not encouraging reguarding this issue: the file must corrupt and unrecoverable. Please tell me otherwise!

Thanks!

PS. the school works on windows 7 and will post exact version of finale 2011 once I'm there.

I tried your link, but got "Access Denied"

You might want to send some of those files to Tech Support. Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of this page.

Thanks for the tips.

It won't open for me, either. Sorry.

I, too, could not open your Finale document.

Perhaps the folks in MakeMusic’s Tech Support can do something, but I suspect that the culprit is file corruption.

In Other Words:

I am afraid that the document is corrupt and unrecoverable, sorry.
