macOS High Sierra, version 10.13.6 / Finale 2014.5

A friend of mine sent me a Finale file which I have downloaded but when I use the playback function not all the instruments are audible. When I first attempted to play the file back this warning coming up, "ARIA session Loader: This session was made of Aria 1.872 while your version is 1.846. please update!"

If I update to the latest version of Finale should the playback option return to normal?

Thanks,

David

You should be able to update the Aria Player and engine independently, but IIRC the latest Finale does install Aria 1.872

In scroll mode the music notation does not move and there is no vertical line which normally moves with the notation.  How can I recover both?

Matteo Giammario,

We do not have enough information from you.

- What version of Finale?

- Windows or Mac?

I have a similar problem as Matteo. I have finale 2011 for windows. When I click play there is no  line that follows the  music as it is playing back. Also the measure counter and the clock that lists the run time are not moving. When the music gets to the end of the screen it does not forward to the next page. Is this fixable?

2017 Imac . Big Sur 11.5.2

Finale 27

I've been working on a project for about a week and the playback has been great.  All of the sudden its not getting to the headphones.  The curser moves, the mixer is showing signal.  Not sure why there would be a problem. Any suggestions?

Do you use any other programs that could affect audio output (Cubase, Zoom, etc.)? What is the sample rate in your audio driver and your system's output? Sometimes another program can switch one of them from 44.1K to 48K output.

What is your Finale Audio device setting: DirectSound? ASIO? Sometimes switching that will help.

Those are the first things I would check, even before worrying about Aria, although Ernest is correct that you can update the player and engine from the Aria Settings tab without reinstalling Finale.
