Thanks for reading.

I am using Finale 2012 on a dual core i7 PC. In Finale scripts, when I call up the menu and choose a script to run, the area for the coding is blank. Is there some way to reinstall the scripts so that the coding reappears?

Hi, Kathleen,

I don't have a solution for your problem-- I'm trudging through the search box trying to remember what problem I had with scripts a while back to which I found a solution.  I didn't bookmark it, though, for whatever reason, and, now, can't find what it was.  (It was something that had, evidently, affected a large portion of the community, and the first fix worked really well.  The second, larger-scale/system-wide one didn't match the filepath on my computer.)  Recalling a little more, there was a link to some technical Finale website (I think) that isn't here.

Leading to my request for a more concisely-categorized search process.  I've seen several unanswered questions (like yours) in my search.  The problem is that it's time-consuming to find what looks like a similar problem to one's own, only to find that it's an unanswered request.

Even something like "This request has not been answered," or "This request was solved," that we can see might make the process quicker.  (I admit I had forgotten that they show the number of comments, but I don't know if that helps when looking for solutions.)

Hi John.

Thanks for responding. I have not gotten any other response, much less a solution for this problem, and have given up on using a script. It does stymie my workflow to have to do things piecemeal. Any help is appreciated.

In re your note: "This request has not been answered."

Thanks,

Hi, Kathleen,

I referred above to a fix I found.  Evidently, there were some corrupted scripts, and I downloaded the corrected ones for the piece on which I was working, and that fixed my problem--on that one tune.

They had a broader-scale fix, too, which I tried to use, but the filepath didn't match my computer's so had to shelve it.  In the meantime, I relocated, worked on other tunes, and forgot both the specific wording I used to get the first script fix, or the technical website (though connected to Finale) which I think dealt with the issues.

Needless to say, if I find them, I'll let you know.  (Pls contact me if you haven't heard anything in a week or so.)
