I'm loving the new Finale (version 26.0.0.653, run on Windows 10) because I've spent so many hundreds of hours adjusting articulations above slurs and around other articulations.
However, at the risk of sounding ungrateful, the automatic placement of the articulations is much closer to slurs than to non-slurred notes or other articulations.
In a line of music, finger numbers over a slur are so much lower than finger numbers over a non-slurred note (and even lower than a finger number over another articulation such as a staccato mark) that reading/playing the line of music fluently is difficult.
For a bit of context, I write educational material for strings so slurs, finger numbers, and staccato dots are quite common. While I understand that I can manually change the height of finger numbers over slurs, avoiding that is the reason I bought the upgrade. Changing the "distance from entry" doesn't seem to help, as it affects slurred and non-slurred articulations the same way.
The closest I can come to a solution is to have a different version of an articulation (finger number) that is used over a slur than is used over a staccato note.
Am I missing any other options? Does anyone have any other solutions?
