It seems that Finale isn't avoiding normal accidental collisions when using cross-staff notes (see image). Is there any way to correct this other than manual note-to-note adjustments?

The collision avoidence algorithm still has many, many flaws. Please send in a complaint. Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of the page.

As Far As I Can Tell, this is a matter of accidentals in different layers, rather than a matter of accidentals on cross-staff notes.

 

I do not get collisions when the notes are in the same layer:

Thank you both for your answers. 

 

Peter, interesting you didn't get that problem. Everything is in Layer 1. Did you enter the bigger notes in staff 1 and the smaller ones in staff 2 and then used opt + arrow key to move the notes to the other staff?

I entered all the notes in the lower staff.

Then, using the Note Mover Tool I “cross-staff”-ed some of the notes up into the upper staff.
