I just tried this and everything worked perfectly for me. Although, I'm using Finale 25 on a Mac. I tried it using GPO4 & GPO 5, both worked correctly.

One thing you should try is to have the Aria player open when you listen to playback. Make sure the piano keyboard is visible on your screen. Just play the double bass and watch and see if the notes are switching octaves as they are played on the piano keyboard.

If you can visually confirm that the octaves are switching but the notation stays on one pitch, then you should contact support about this. That would be a Finale problem, not a Garritan problem.

Not enough information. So, what Garritan library were you using? You’ve not told us this. Neither have you told us which “Low C” is giving you this grief.

I cannot make GPO5 misbehave in this fashion. Is it GIFF instead or?

Back when I played, four of my eight basses had a B string including my symphony bass.

I used the setup wizard to create a file with just a double bass. I created two measures of music. First measure, half rest, 2 quarter note low C's. Next measure, half rest and half note low C. I added pizz to beat one of first measure and arco to measure 2. I loaded the double bass KS from GPO4. I played the file back and all notes played back at the correct pitch. None jumped an octave. I then used the DB from GPO5 and results were identical.

I apologize--I had made a sample .musx file, but could not find how to attach it.
So, instead, I made a screenshot for you (see below).

The note in question is written C3 (sounding 8vb to CB) but it plays back up one octave.

Again, when "arco," this plays back correctly; it is only when pizzicato that the anomaly occurs.

As best I can tell, I am using GPO 4.02. I do not know how to discern which version I am using, except from my receipts and email confirmations.

If GPO, that should go to the Garritan board. I would contact MakeMusic through the Submit a request link. I see that 4.02 was the latest version of GPO 4 but I no longer have it installed. Neither do I know if the fix is to update to GPO 5 or not.

Have you tried this with GIFF (Garritan Instruments for Finale)? It should be interesting one way or the other.  Do you also have a cello in this score? If so, mute it and see what happens.

As I indicated, half my basses can sound an octave lower. Thanks for clarifying which note you are having the problems with.
