I'm writing a score out and instead of being in standard tuning electric guitar, its lap steel open g tuning. I can't seem to fix the tab at all. How do you remedy this?

 

I use Finale 2012, MacBook Pro Mojave

The tuning is set in the dialog box Fretboard Instrument Definition.

Enter MIDI numbers as string pitches.

Window menu > ScoreManager > Instrument List

 

In the lower right pane of the Instrument List, next to

Notation Style: Tablature

click “Settings…”

 

You get to the dialog box Tablature Staff Attributes.

Click “Edit Instruments…”.

 

Generally, to find a Finale dialog box, use the online manual’s Search function.

A search for “Fretboard Instrument Definition” takes you to the right place in the manual where you can read,
