I'm using Mac OS X v. 10.11.6 and Finale version 25.5.0.259.  When I insert repeat signs into my score, the playback tempo slows to about half the original tempo and remains slow after the repeated section.  This doesn't happen with all scores, but I want to fix the score I'm working on, where it does happen.  I have tried putting a new tempo marking immediately after the forward repeat sign, but it still plays back just as slow, and stays slow until the next tempo mark. Any thoughts?

If the repeat signs are the cause, then I would suspect that the culprit is Human Playback.

 

Check whether the playback still slows down when Human Playback is set to None.

The tempo is OK when human playback is set to none.  Is there a setting within "Human Playback" that I can change to fix this?

I do not know.

I suggest that you - in the dialog box Human Playback Custom Style - experiment with toggling on/off options like

- Final Bars

- Automatic Expression

- Interpret Harmonic Cadences
