v26 MacBook Pro Mojave 10.14.3 - problem is - I scanned in a piece of music from Oboe score.  At the beginning of each line of music is 'Oboe'.  I want to delete those words because I've transposed it for Alto Sax, but they won't delete when I try.  Suggestions.

Please describe your steps when you try to delete.

What tool are you using?

If this was a scan brought in via XML, sometimes it's easiest to set up a new document the way you want it, and copy the score over to it.

I found out how to do it, if anyone has this same problem.  I went to Staff, clicked on Edit Staff Attributes, and unchecked Staff Names in score.  Bingo, they're gone.
