I've been using Finale for more years that I care to remember, and mostly trouble free, but today suddenly Finale continually reverts to the Speedy Entry tool from whichever other tool is selected, usually after a delay of about 5 seconds. This is extremely frustrating as it completely destroys my work-flow. Can anyone suggest the cure? I've tried the usual reboot without success. I'm running Finale 26 on Windows 10 in a very standard set-up which has not been changed in any way (that I know of!) between yesterday and today I use keyboard entry for Speedy.

Sounds like something related to stuck-key syndrome; but how, I do not know.

You might try resetting the preferences.

I use TG Tools to re-map four keys and noticed that, whilst three re-mappings were still working, the fourth (moving the dot in Speedy to the number pad zero, which I find more convenient to reach quickly) was not. Despite being programed, it continued its normal function of exiting and entering the edit frame. As this seemed possibly to be connected with the problem I decided to reinstall TG Tools first as it offered less potential for losing settings than a preferences reset. Having done so, I found the problems cured! I admit to being very surprised as I did not really expect such a result, having never previously experienced any problems with the excellent TG Tools. I don't honestly know whether I stumbled on the solution or whether the cause was elsewhere and reset itself by some other (possibly magical!) means, but all is now restored to normality. Thank you for your assistance.
