They can't reach an E-flat 4? Any untrained off-the street church-choir bass is expected to reach this note, which is a hymnal note. The GPO5 basses are mute above A3. Perhaps we can add a 'baritone range extender' option for this section? I went to edit the sfz file, but I can't unlock it.

I agree.  There are issues with instrument ranges for several instruments (Bass voice, E-flat clarinet, timpani 2 KS, tuba).  And sfz editing is a pain.

As you're on a Mac, I'd recommend the text editor, BBEdit. Not only does it have lots of advanced tools for text manipulation (rather than styling), but it also deals with files that the user cannot normally read or write to. It'll ask you for an admin password, then save the file with the correct permissions when you're done.
