In my piano composition, lower notes in base do not sound at all.  In another composition, I have randomly lost the treble notes which do not sound.

If I understand you correctly, your problem is a playback issue, right?

 

I think that we need more info from you.

Here are some initial questions:

- Windows Finale or Mac Finale?

- What version of the operating system? What version of Finale?

- What playback device are you using in this particular Finale document?

Yes.  It is a playback issue.  Here is the additional information you requested:

1.  Windows Finale

2. Windows 10

3. Finale 14.5

4.  Playing back through VST

I suspect that the {not sounding} notes are outside the range of the chosen VST instrument.

Try another VST instrument.

 

Or try {Play Finale Through MIDI}.

You may not like the sound of playback through MIDI, but at least all notes will always sound, no matter how high or low they are.
