Hi everyone,

I want to buy a tablet which can run Finale (v25, for instance) and I've heard good opinions on Microsoft Surface. I would like to know which model of Surface do you use to work with Finale. I suppose that it will be necessary an HDD of, at least, 512GB.. and it makes the new surface 6 a very expensive option. Do you know any alternatives? which tablets do you use?

Thanks a lot!

There's no reason why the Surface or any other Mac/Win PC will not work as long as it runs the Mac or a 64 bit Windows OS. iPads and Android tablets are out.

Finale, by itself, doesn't require a lot of onboard storage. Virtual Instruments (VIs) and other apps you want to run can increase that requirement, of course. I can run Finale on my wife's 128GB MacBook Air when I need something portable and it works fine. My desktop iMac has nearly 3TB of VIs so that's where the heavy lifting is done.

If the new Surface—or whatever you get—is to be your primary PC, then you won't be wrong to get the largest SSD the budget will allow. If, like I, it's an auxiliary to a desktop workstation, you can usually get by with something more budget-friendly.

Hope this helps!
