The title says most of it. I am entering music in the key of a flat. The music I am entering has an e natural. I select the natural sign and click on e and it moves the note up to f with a flat on it. At some places I have been able to enter e natural and have it display properly, can't recall exactly how I did that. How can I control this? 

Also, wondering how this forum relates to www.finaleforum.com? Is that one not sponsored by makemusic?

I feel like I entered this question before, but I can't find it, so apologies if duplicate, but I don't recall getting an email notifying me of response. Thanks in advance for any guidance here. I have spent a lot of time trying to find the answer but no joy.

I suppose that you are talking about Simple Entry, right?

 

I am not sure why Finale respells a note right after you have click-entered the note.

It has never happened for me.

 

Have you tried other entry methods?

You could e. g. enter an e♭, and then hit the letter N key to get e♮.

It works for me. I can (in Simple) enter the e, and then either tap the + key, or the N.
