Finale version 2014a

I am going back to edit a lyric from a year ago and when I type in the new word, the old word appears to be gone, but when I save the file the old word is still there in addition to the new word making it impossible to read the new word.  What am I doing wrong?

You can change the word in the Lyrics Edit window.

Also be sure you are in the same layer as the original lyric.

Double-clicking on the lyric should automatically put you in the correct layer and verse to edit.
