OS High Sierra; Finale 25.5

I want to create 3 staves with 9 instruments on each staff and employ standard notation.  In addition, I want to design the placement of an instrument where I want it, not any of the defaults Finale employs.  I've read the manual and watched YouTube videos.  They do NOT address this question in a straight forward manner.  Can you assist me.

Thank you.

Yours,

Erik Lundborg

Although I’ve never understood it, I believe that not all of the instruments that are listed actually have a sound attached to them.

As far as I know, you have never actually said which Garritan packages you are using, nor which subsections of those packages you have tried.

You will probably not like what I am going to say, but eventually--to do sophisticated percussion setups--you are going to have to do your homework with the manuals (to connect sounds and MIDI codes) and do some experimentation (akin to the 10,000-hour rule). There is no shortcut to doing custom setups, and I think most of the folks trying to help you here have done this themselves. I have had my own share of self-teaching sessions to try to get what I wanted from the Finale percussion tools, and I know Peter and Mike R are long-time Finale users too.

(And Mike is correct that, when you look at the GPO4 Basic Orchestra Percussion setup in the Aria Player, not all the keys corresponding to the codes listed are lit up in the diagram. They may be part of some of the other GPO Percussion sound sets.)

Before you can set up the layout, you have to find the sounds. Until then, the layout is only useful to show noteheads, not for reliable playback.

Adrian,

Ok, I will attempt it again and again.  Thanks.
