Music fonts seem to be ok, but some text fonts seem to be missing. Look into Document Options -> Fonts and redefine them if needed (measure numbers, text,...). 

You can also try Plug-ins ► Miscellaneous ► Change Fonts.

Thanks!  Now it's in the ballpark.  But there are still sections I can't get at:

Time signature fonts also have to be redefined (Document options -> Fonts -> Notation -> Time - score and Time - parts).

In  green, these could be expressions. Try to locate them in the expression tool. Try a "standard' text font.

I'm not sure that your Jazz fonts are not recognized, as the music mostly displays OK.

Yes. If Michel Herr's suggestion doesn't work, I post the step by step. It's easy but takes me about 15–20 minutes to do.

yes I tried that.  Temped to pull out my clunky old desktop from 2008 so I can work on these files the way they are supposed to look.  This should be easier lol.

Now I have to figure out why the audio is not working.  Did "rewire reset" when I got the audio engine failed to load.  Now I have to see why there's still no sound.

Will create new ticket here if I need advice.  Many thanks to all!!!  Happy charting.

NEVER MIND I got the sound working looks like the > Window > Mixer has everything set to MUTE and one track is SOLO'd by default.  Strange.

Great! It normally does — that's why I wanted you to try it first.

There are some iOS apps that don't follow that convention. I had to stop using them over that.
