I am running Finale 25.5.0.290 on a Windows Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362.

I have created a score of a medley which includes Song titles/composers information in text blocks linked to the measure in which those songs appear in the work. I would like those text blocks to show up in the linked parts (or perhaps in the extracted parts) but have not yet figured out how to do that. I assume the text blocks are only attached to the top staff in the score, so would only show up in linked parts that include the top staff, but instrumentalists don't want to see the soprano vocal line, so that is not an option. I can't find a control that would allow a "global" assignment option for text blocks, but I can sometimes be extraordinarily ineffective at finding the right information.

I have found if I create a text block with the desired info directly in each linked part, they will all show up in the score.

At the moment, the only option I have found is to extract the parts, then do the tedious work for adding the desired information individually to each part, which in the case of this project will be a royal pain - I'm sure there must be a better way. Any suggestions?

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, you are using the Text Tool, right?

1) I wonder why you are not using the Expression Tool?

You can duplicate an existing expression category of the type that uses a Score List (e. g. the category Tempo Alterations), and set up an un-used Score List to control, on what staves the category expressions should appear, both in the score and in the linked parts.

2) If you must use the Text Tool, you must add the text block to all the staves where you need the text block.

A. You can break the Show/Hide linking between score and part so that the text block shows in the part, but not in the score.

B. Another solution is that you break the positioning linking so that the text block is positioned in the part as needed, but in the score positioned to the right of the right page edge.

In that way the text block in the score will not print, even if it is not hidden.
