Mac Os 10.14.6.  Finale 26 - lastest update.  Macbook pro mid 2015,  16GB Ram, 1 TB hard drive SSD.

 

Finale crashes on launch.  Gives "Unhandled exception caught" error.  No error report is generated.  

Trashed preferences - still no difference.

Finale does launch on a secondary user account created to diagnose this issue.  No Idea what is going on.

Are your apps and documents all on the system/boot drive?

I'm having the same problem crashing on launch. Gives Unhandled exception caught. Once you click ok it goes no further. This happens each time you launch the program.

Darrell,

 

Sorry you are having difficulty, but you have to give us more information about your computer system (OS & version thereof), which version of Finale you are using and any other circumstances surrounding your use of Finale. Otherwise we are all grasping for straws in the dark.

I’m using Mac OS Mojave on a 2012 MacBook Pro. When I try to launch a 2011 version of Printmusic I get the Unhandled exception caught. and it goes no further. Is there anything that can be done about that?

Ah... your only choice is to upgrade to the full version of Finale, currently 26. Not even PrintMusic 2014.5 will run over Mojave (one of the reasons the Mac version is no longer available for purchase or upgrade).
