I suppose that you with your word ‘endpoint’ mean the handle at the beginning/end of a hairpin, right?

I am not sure what you mean by your words ‘links correctly’?!?

Are you talking about playback? - or layout?

Layout...

in this case the handle at the end of the hairpin which (according to the blue dotted line) "links" to the bar last beat: how can one changes this behaviour to attach that end point to the rest in the score (or to the end of the note written...)?

Alessandro Melchiorre,

I am afraid I do not understand.

The time signature is 4/4.

In the measure there is a whole note, and a whole rest. Each of them fill the full duration of a 4/4 measure, right?

I suppose that the note and the rest are in two different layers, right?

So that one instrument plays the whole note during the entire measure, and another instrument has a whole rest during the entire measure, right?

What, exactly, is the problem you are experiencing, and are trying to solve?

Sorry Peter, time signature is 4/4+4/4, the image missed the first 4/4...
