My piano teacher is using transcription as a method of teaching jazz. I have completed a quartet arr. including a detailed transcribed piano part. He has now asked me to display the rhythm "hits" of the piano, during the trumpet. & sax solos. I chose to use a layer three in the "Solos" section with the notes on the high A line, so as to be distinct from the slash notation of each meas., and to allow enough space above the "comp" rhythm to retain the chord symbols. I attempted to then "apply staff styles" rhythmic notation to layer three, but this changed the slash notation in layer one. Is there a way to change just the chosen LAYER only?

Incidentally, I am disappointed that the new update still uses the archaic simple entry for drum parts. It takes forever!!      Ned
