In reply to your admonition about using serial #.  With several contacts thru the years since I started using Finale in 1998, I was told, either in print with my message, or asked for it when I phoned, I was told to ALWAYS give my serial#  with any correspondence. I did not know that policy had changed. I did not think my message would even be responded to without it.

I had already tried the solution suggested to me, using the "layer only" method of applying staff styles. It did change the layer to rhythm notation, BUT, I had entered the "hits" on the high A line and they were moved to the middle B line, erasing the slashes placed there using layer 1. That's not what I wanted, but I can li ve with it......

Thanks,  Ned

Hi Ned. This is a help site but it is users like I helping other users. Although official, it is not Tech Support. No one who posts or reads things here needs your contact info or serial number. We can often help out with such things such as older versions that are no longer supported. Unlike Support, questions asked here on weekends and holidays may get a helpful answer, something unavailable when MM's offices are closed.

To contact MakeMusic Tech Support, use the Submit a request link at the top of the page. Your serial number and contact info will be requested as part of the form you fill out—as it should be.
