Mac OS Catalina.  Finale Version 26.2.1.464

I am arranging guitar parts and changing notes to X note heads when they are doing rhythmic 16ths by using staff attributes on those notes and then leave the actual notes when they play notes. When I do this and try to copy the measures to another location the X-note heads do not copy over, but go back to being the notes. In other words the note staff attributes are not copying even though I have everything marked to be copied. Any solutions?

Staff Attributes are not copyable.

To change the Staff Attributes for all the staves “at one fell swoop”, use the plug-in Global Staff Attributes.

Are you sure you are using Staff Attributes?

From your description it sounds more like you are using a custom staff style.

I think you are correct.  So, what should I use for those guitar type scratching 16th's?

What I have been doing is highlighting the notes with the staff tool and then pressing G to turn the notes into the X-note heads.

Gary Winters,

Take a look at how the staff style is defined.

This is done in the dialog box Staff Styles.

* Is there a check mark next to “Copyable”?

It was not marked.  I marked it and everything worked great.  Thank you.
