How do you delete a upbeat measure?

You would think it would be simple, just highlight like you would any other measure and delete . But NOOOOOOOOO. This is Finale. Nominated for the most garage - made software of the century lol

How did you create it? If it was with the Document > Pickup Measure, select the measure, go back to that menu item, and click "clear pickup."

If you did it by altering the time signature in that measure, go back to Edit Time Signature, and fix it, there.

I find myself totally agreeing with GREGORY.  All I want to do is delete a measure (it's the last one in the stave).  It won't let me do it without moving the measure after that one up.  Sooooooo frustrating.  This should be simple.  Mike Rosen, if you have any suggestions for this I would appreciate it.

Ruth,

I'm not completely sure what you're having a problem with. Give me a call at 206-five two three-9628.

If you are working in page view (which I don't recommend, until you are in the final page layout stage,) deleting a measure from a staff makes enough room for a following measure to jump up. If you don't want it there, just move it back down. To move a measure up to the preceding staff, or down to the following staff, select the measure, and tap the up or down arrow key.

It's simple, at least for me. You go to document in the drop down menu -click pickup measure - then click delete in the dialog!
