I am using Finale Notepad 2012 on my laptop. I have not used it much and it is my first time on this device. The install went fine but whenever I try to create a piece of music during the start up of the program, immediately after I click finish, it displays 'Error. Enigma 12'. The program then restarts with no explanation.

You might try reinstalling the program. If you go to finalemusic.com > your account > My Software, you will be able to download a fresh copy.

Even with a new soft copy the msg ENIGMA ERROR-12 is coming. Any other solution?

There's a conflict somewhere with something. This has been reported here many times over the years. If you type Enigma Error 12 in the Search box, you should see 61 posts, threads and solutions.

 

In a Google search, I found this which recommends downloading some repair tool that may (or probably won't) work.
