Hi, I am using finale 26.1 on a lenovo PC.

I am quite new to a finale. Whenever I want a quarter note tuplet - I put in a quarter note then press 9 - but it turns into a quarter note WITHIN an eighth-note tuplet.  What am I missing?

If anyone can help I would be grateful... 

 

 

 

intel core i-5-8250u cpu @ 1.60 GHZ  1.80 GHZ

RAM - 8.00 GB  64 bit operating system

Haggai Zehavi,

 

From your description it sounds like you are using the Tuplet (sub-)tool in side the Simple Entry Tool, right?

 

Pressing the number 9 key gives you the Default Simple Entry Tuplet.

To customise, hold down the correct modifier key (perhaps the Alt key?) while pressing 9.

You get to the dialog box Simple Entry Tuplet Definition where you can customise the current tuplet as well as the Default Simple Entry Tuplet.
