I have the newest version of Finale. Currently I'm copying a bass line to a new document that has bass and tab. It is a bass solo for four string that covers the entire range of the instrument. For some reason when it pastes to the new document, it lowers it an octave, below the 4 string range. When I fix it and copy it to the tab, it lowers it an octave again. I've tried to trouble shoot for to no avail.
To find the culprit (= to narrow down the problem), listen to the Playback, specifically the octave level (click the Playback button):
1) Before you copy, does the original music play back at the correct octave level? - or is it an octave too high?
2) After you have copied, does the copied music play back at the correct octave level? - or is it an octave too low?
Also, take a look in
Preferences - Edit
Is the option {Respect Instrument Ranges when Copying or Changing Instruments} selected or de-selected?
If it is selected, de-select it.
